This Too, Shall Pass

Friend, what you are going through in life right now, it shall pass.

During periods of life, we rejoice and celebrate with family and friends; at other times, there are moments that are very difficult; things happen in our life that we didn’t plan on or expect. Loved ones pass away, sicknesses arise out of nowhere, and relationships come to an end. Financial burdens sweep over us like a gust of wind. We go through many situations in this life that can be hard to overcome; grief, sorrow, hardships, pain, and sickness. On this earth, we experience much of this.

Living a life without God makes it harder because there is no hope. There’s an uncertainty of what is to come after death. It’s a gloom that overshadows a person and gives no peace. Billions and billions of people have lived on this earth who are no longer alive. Their joy, their sorrow, their works, and everything else they had done on this earth; the same as what we are experiencing right now; came to a close when they took their last breath. They are gone, and the question arises: Where is their soul at? There are two answers to that. An eternal life with God Almighty in His Kingdom, or an eternal separation from God after receiving judgement. Humans are destined to come to an end sooner or later. It says in the Word of God, the Bible;

“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him, He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” Hebrews 9:27-28,

Friend, in the Bible, we read about the comfort that Christ brings to us. There’s a hope that He gives us, and a peace that flows into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. In John 14:27 it says:

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

This was Jesus Christ Himself speaking to those around Him. These words are still faithful and true to this day. They are faithful because Jesus Christ, God’s Son, came down to this earth and He shed His blood on the cross for our sins. We can now have the eternal salvation that brings peace and joy into our hearts!

When we accept Jesus Christ into our heart, when we ask Him for forgiveness of our sins, which are many, He cleanses us and makes us new again. We become a new creation, as it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Truly from my personal life experience, I have experienced it and believe this! Christ has made me a new person. He has washed away my sins by His blood and He dwells in me and has made me a free man! The biggest joy in life is knowing that Christ dwells in you. It’s a joy only the one who has experienced it knows. As I cannot experience your personal pain that you are going through right now, so is it the same if you haven’t experienced Christ’s love and His forgiveness and the Holy Spirit that dwells in you.

Friend, I have great news, the best news you will ever hear! As long as you have breath in your lungs and a beating heart, this is a free chance to come to God Almighty! To have your sins and burdens washed away forever! If you feel burdened with the curse of sin that falls on every human being, then look no further than the cross! The cross where the Savior, Jesus Christ, shed His blood for our sins!

The Bible says in the Book of John 3:16,

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

The everlasting life is given to us for free! All we have to do is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him into our hearts! Everything else, He will do for us, as it is written in Isaiah 1:18,

“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

The Lord is pleading with you, friend! He wants to have a personal relationship with you! Come to the Father and receive mercy, forgiveness, and grace because of what His Son Jesus Christ did on the cross! A free salvation for all who believe and accept! Right now is the day of salvation, as it says in God’s Word:

“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2

Friend, the Bible also says that God is everywhere. For His temple dwells within us. He is right here with you, He’s waiting. His love is so great for you, that nothing and no one can surpass it. His arms are wide open. All you have to do is cry out to Him,

“Oh my God, I come right now before you in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son! With my sins, my burdens, my hurt, I lay it all down at the cross! Forgive me my trespasses and give me a new heart so I can be a new man/woman again!”

When we do that, we receive peace in our hearts that no one and nothing on this earth can compare to!

My dream is that the day will come, by the mercy and grace of my God and King, Jesus Christ, I will stand before Him in eternal heaven and He will welcome me into His kingdom, a sinner who was washed clean by His blood.

Friend, I truly hope and pray to see you there as well!

Being a Friend of God

It is wonderful when we as Christians, who come before Christ, call Him and describe Him in multiple words such as: Lord of lords, King of kings, Savior, Redeemer, Messiah, Prince of peace, Creator, God, etc., for so He is! And in return, what does Christ call those who have accepted Him? He calls us FRIENDS!

In John 15:15, Jesus says, “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” So Jesus, being the Son of God, who died for us sinners, is now calling us friends! It’s so wonderful to know that I can come before Christ and talk to Him like a friend. I can tell Him all that is in my heart, knowing that He will hear me and answer my prayer.

Friend, as you are reading this right now, have you accepted Christ into your heart? If not, this is God calling to you right now, to make peace with Him. For in Isaiah 1:18, it says,

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.”

The Lord Almighty is actually pleading with you friend! He says, “Come now, let us reason together!” Oh, how He wants you to accept Him because He loves you so much! The Lord, in other words, is saying, “Come now, let’s be friends! Let Me be your best and most faithful friend! I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died for your sins on the cross because I have loved you so much!” His mercy is being extended to you. Accept it; be cleansed, forgiven, and washed whiter than snow!

The Peace From Christ

Friend, do you have peace and joy on this earth?

Many people live, but don’t have that peace and joy.

“Why?” You might ask.

Because people seek fulfillment in all the things of this world that we see with our eyes, to bring pleasure to oneself; to have and to use. We think we’ll achieve happiness if we get our dream home, vehicle, or by becoming rich. Maybe it’s vacation after vacation or going from relationship to relationship, but the pleasure of these things doesn’t bring fulfillment. There’s a constant desire for more and more of it. But alas, we acquire all these things, and in the end, they bring disappointment and an empty hollow feeling inside the soul. Solomon, a wise man who had everything he ever wanted in life, wrote:

“Hell and Destruction are never full; So the eyes of man are never satisfied.” Proverbs 27:20

You see friend, our bodies are made of flesh, and that means one day the body will take its last breath and return to the dust of the earth. We are trying to fill our temporary selves with something that is also temporary.

It says in 1 John 2:16,

“For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.”

To find peace and joy, we need that which is eternal and

from the “Father of Lights.” James 1:17

The Light that came down from the Father is Jesus Christ. When we accept Jesus Christ into our hearts, then our peace and joy come from above, through the Holy Spirit! It overflows like a river, happiness settles in like dew, it soaks the body, the soul, and the spirit! When that joy overtakes you, you start glowing with the Spirit of God! People around you start noticing that joy, but they don’t understand it as it’s not of this world. It cannot be found on this earth, it cannot be acquired through large sums of money or gold, but simply, by getting on your knees and asking the Lord of Hosts for His peace to overflow you, for His joy to overpower you! Having that close relationship with Christ is truly an experience no one else will give! For joy and peace flow from Him!

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

Friend, if you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ into your heart yet, this is the time to receive the eternal salvation and an eternal joy in the soul. It says in Acts 2:38,

“Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

The Holy Spirit is given to us on this earth, and He brings us the true joy and peace. He guides us to an eternal salvation.

Heaven Climb

I set my heart on seeking God,

with fasting and prayer.

A vision soon followed,

so clear and so bright!

My life, I realized, was borrowed.

A vision of a mountain up high.

To the light above I alone was climbing.

Where God’s dwelling is,

where the light doesn't stop shining.

I put all of my strength into the ascent,

but alas, solo to God proved difficult.

I was desperate, I needed a friend.

Suddenly a mysterious figure appeared on the right,

and with an outstretched arm,

He motioned for me to quit the fight.

I stepped off the mountain,

and onto a new path going up.

The higher we climbed, the brighter it got,

His angelic figure blocking the blinding light!

We made it to the top!

Without a word this heavenly being stretched out His hand,

one towards me and another towards the light.

An introduction indeed!

And here at this moment I understood,

who could this mysterious figure be,

but Jesus Christ Himself next to me!

My knees buckled and my voice trembled,

oh, how could a sinner unworthy like me,

stand in this most awesome and glorious place!

But only through Jesus Christ Himself was I able to stand.

For this light, this light alone was God Himself,

in all His Holiness, Majesty and Splendor!

Please Father, please embrace me with your mercy and grace!

The cloud of light swirled around me and hugged me close.

The most unexplainable wonderful feeling of all!

God’s Mercy and Grace!

So secure and so safe,

There was no other place so peaceful and calm!

I was truly in God’s own Palm!

In this my eyes have been opened,

For to God there is no other way,

But only through Jesus Christ His Son.

May we praise Him with all our hearts and sing!

Because He’s the One and only true King!

Pruning In the Life of a Christ Follower

Are you a Christ follower who has been letting fruitless branches and twigs grow wildly in your life? Jesus said,

“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” John 15:2

As a gardener prunes a tree so it can provide more fruit, so God prunes us. The tiny little twigs that start growing in the wrong places prevent us from providing worthy fruit for God’s Kingdom. These little branches, starting from the trunk, if not cut down, will grow into big branches; same with our sins. Something so small, yet if not taken care of immediately and cut away, will grow into a bigger sin problem. It’s painful to the tree when making big branch cuts on it and the same is with our life. Sometimes, if we haven’t been seeking God’s face and walked away from Him for a period of time, so shall our sins grow in that time. When we come back to God, He will prune us and have to cut away our sins which have grown, and that will be very painful. It is better to serve God faithfully and always, or later on the pruning will be harsh.

Every season a tree needs to be pruned. So is it with us. Every season we will have branches that need to be cut down. With God’s wisdom we will know which ones to get rid of and He will cut them away from us; only if we are willing and let Him.

The small sins that we have, we may sometimes say, “What about it, why does it matter? It’s really nothing. I can stop it anytime and get rid of it.” That little tiny twig that looks too small to care about. That is our sin. It’s too small to matter but in one season that little 1 inch twig will grow to be a 2 feet long branch. Same with our sin. It’s so small yet can grow quickly before we realize it, and then we can’t control it. We can’t stop it.

In Isaiah 53:7 it is said about Jesus Christ: “He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.”

Friend, as Jesus Christ was led as a lamb to the slaughter to pay the penalty for our sins. So we, with our secret sins, are being led to the slaughter. That temptation, that desire comes up on us so strongly that we cannot control ourselves. And that’s how we fall into certain sin or sins and are led by them like a lamb to the slaughter. As Jesus was silent heading to the slaughter, so are we; we are silent and quiet about our sin as we fall into it. It does not have to be a big sin as we think, like adultery or murder, a big robbery or assault. No, because Jesus said, “If anyone looks at a woman to lust for her, he has already committed adultery in his heart, and if anyone is angry at his brother, he is in danger of the judgment. If we have jealousy, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, envy in our hearts, these things in our heart are as sinful as if we already did them. When Cain was angry with his brother Abel, God told him, “Sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” But sadly, Cain couldn’t control his anger and killed his brother. This is why we need to have Jesus Christ in us; when He comes and does His work in our hearts, we become free from our sins. Because He was the one who was led as a lamb, but sinless, and therefore when He comes inside our heart, He takes that sin that we are bound by and nails it to the cross. And we become free from it. Jesus said in John 8:36, “Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

There is another type of branch a tree has that is unneeded; the dry, dead branch. It is dead, yet still on the tree. Which can bring in turn disease to the whole tree. Those are our unconfessed sins. We might not be doing them anymore, but that ugly, dry, dead branch is still there, waiting to be cut off or broken off. Examine yourself: is there a past sin that constantly comes to your mind? Maybe you’ve asked Jesus to forgive you, and He has. But for some reason, it’s somewhere in the back of your mind. Bring it out into the open. It’s definitely not always easy; it may bring us shame.

But the Word of God says in James 5:16, “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

So, you see friend, confession is not always easy but great for the soul and body. It can actually bring physical healing to your body! If you read in James Chapter 5, verses 14-18, the Word shows how this works and gives you faith to do so! Find a pastor or church elder, someone you can trust. Someone who loves the Lord, who lives a righteous life, because a fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much!

The pastor or elder taking your confession does not and cannot forgive your sins, but bringing it out in the open breaks the chains of the sin! If it’s a sin that you can’t stop doing, maybe you hate it so much, you cry after falling, and you weep, and you ask God why can’t you overcome it? Well, it might be because satan has a foothold in your life with it. The confession of bringing out the sin in the open can also break the foothold that the devil has in your life, and you will be a freed man/woman.

Jesus knew every single person who came to Him with what sickness that person was dealing with, what demon was possessing that person, and on and on. But still, each time He would ask the person what they wanted, and they had to proclaim it with their mouth out loud what they wanted, and Jesus would heal that man or woman! Same with us, we must bring out our sin that we hate, in the open. When we do it in the name of Jesus Christ, the sin then loses its power! For the Spirit of God will descend on you! And as it says in 2 Corinthians 3:17, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!”

So therefore Friend, confess it, get it off your shoulders so you can look like a beautiful tree that God wants you to be!

God the Father and the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, wants to prune you and me. Will we let Him?
